Ricky Abare, CMT

Ricky has been practicing holistic bodywork since 2016. After extensive training in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga in the summer of 2016, Ricky started learning hands-on manual therapy under apprenticeship-styled systems of Hawaiian Lomi Bodywork and Thai yoga massage. Both of these lineages are known as “temple-bodywork styles” that go back hundreds, even thousands of years. After a brief stay in Breckenridge Colorado, where he first attended a program at University of Colorado & also working as a student massage therapist, he later finished his hours in Augusta, Maine at Downtown Yoga & Healing Arts School, where he officially received his Certificate in 2018.

Experiences include, operating a Retreat Center, co-founding a Holistic Spa, and also being invited into a Shamanic/ceremonial healing team of facilitators, as the designated bodyworker, that held space in transformative retreat-style events. Ricky has been blessed to witness, receive and facilitate miraculous healing experiences that can only be explained by the innate mind/body/spirit essence in all of us that yearns to heal and become whole again.

In 2022 Ricky’s life was transformed by chronic illness that forced him to take a year off of practicing, in order to recover & heal. He moved back to his home state of Vermont to start working with a master healer-mentor who helped Ricky in healing himself from lyme disease, mold infection, Long-covid and serious post-concussion symptoms. This year profoundly altered the trajectory of Ricky’s life by bringing him deeper inside his own healing journey which opened him up to even greater realms of possibilities for healing in the human body. Currently Ricky lives in his home state of Vermont, offering bodywork furthering his dedication to his craft, while also continuing his life-long learning of health & wellness.
